I left my heart San Francisco AGAIN.
I was so fortunate to go to Brit + Co.'s first Re:Make event...and I am so glad I did. It was full of awesome content, awesome people, awesome makers and an awesome vibe. Brit Morin put together one quality event as makers of all types came together to discuss and experience how digital innovations are revolutionizing the way we make.
Lots of good stuff but thought I'd share the faves I discovered, re-discovered and embraced...
A maker is someone who creates inspiration - not just physical products. -Randi Zuckerberg, Zuckerberg Media
The CatchBox is the coolest (and throwable) microphone on the block. Heads up.
Generosity begets business. - Michael Mina, celebrity chef & author
The time, products and insight provided by all of the sponsors, speakers and vendors was off the charts. It was so comfortable and I loved how everyone was so approachable and helpful. Thank you!
Always. Rethink. Everything. - Jesse Genet, Lumi
Currently I'm a bit obsessed with Lumi! So worth checking out...you can do a-mazing things when printing fabric with light using the Lumi kits! (And founder, Jesse is pretty brilliant.)
Regular people with powerful tools can do extraordinary things. - Chris Anderson, 3D Robotics
3D printing isn't just for making Yoda heads - you can make jewelry, belt buckles and home decor! The 3D printer is predicted to be the home computer of the 21st century.
Always use the best quality spirits - and add ice last. - Josh Pogash, The Cocktail Guru
This Tap 357 Maple Rye Whisky was ridiculously tasty (and that's coming from a non-whisky fan.)
Emily Henderson. I adore her, her amazing style and her candid take on embracing technology - but most importantly, I love that she was headed to the Twin Cities for the first time for a project with Curbly.
London is home to the strongest new brands in fashion. - Aubrie Pagano, Bow & Drape
We're all creative. There are only those who use their creativity and those who don't. - Brit Morin, Brit + Co.
You can meet someone for the first time and feel like you've known each other forever after just a couple days.
I ADORE Kara and Jolene from Red Stamp and had so much fun hanging with them for the weekend. So smart. So fun. Having withdrawl...and can't wait to see them again soon!
San Francisco is full of weird and wonderful (and beautiful) and I love it! Plus the weather is the most perfect in October.
Here is some beautiful for you. I would sit in the contemporary patisserie of Craftsman & Wolves everyday if I could. It's yummy and gorgeous.
I thought this event was a sure hit in it's first year and it will definitely be on my calendar for 2014!
