View Post | (0) Comment(s)So, wedding is in April. Originally it was planned for October. But we had to change it due to some illnesses in my family. At any rate, initially I had asked three of my friends and my 15 year old daughter to be the bridesmaids. Well, first one friend did the whole never having time to go shopping for dresses always being a no show. So after a few months of this. I talked to her about how I could see her priorities were not where I needed them to be and she needed to get her stuff that she needed to deal with and get through it and not worry about my wedding. I wanted her there but I thought her place was not in my wedding. She flipped, we didnt speak for about two months, then she called me and was crying about how sorry she was and that she realized that I was right and told me everything she had done to work with her stuff. So that was a few months ago. I told her they were clearancing out the bridesmaid's gown and if she still wanted to be in the wedding she would need to get on it. She cried hugged me said she would get it the following week. SO I have waited a month, I asked her if her dress came in yet. She told me she had forgotten to order it. She has been so busy with this new guy she is dating. Once again new guy and she is just ignoring everything else. I mean it isnt like she is 18, she is 29 years old. At some point we have to grow up. I am kind of just going to not say a word, when she doesnt have the dress, I will tell her sorry, you cant be in the wedding. I am not her mother. Other friend went ballistic because when we changed the wedding date I didnt consult her on my wedding colors. Um, last I checked she had her wedding and this is mine? She hasnt spoken to me since and even if she came out of nowhere, I would not invite or include her. So another friend was asked to be in the wedding. Our wedding party is our daughter, one of our best friends and my friend from work. 2 Jr. Bridemsaids who is our best friends grandaughters and my friend from works grandaughter will be the flower girl. My fiancee has two of his good friends and our son on his side, one of our friends two sons as Jr. Groomsmen. I am just wondering first if this is too many kids and second if anyone is thinking i am being too hard on my flaky friend. I mean I haven't brought up the wedding too much. Didnt think it was necessary. Didnt want to create another argument. But, one of my work friends had suggested that if I really want her in the wedding, I should push a little harder for her to get a dress. My response of course immediately was, if she really wanted to be in the wedding, she would make the time and I shouldn't have to beg her. So, what do you think?

We think that using your new monogram is a great way to add a touch of class to your event. http://www.brownbowgifts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=lollipops http://www.brownbowgifts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=dance+floor

There is nothing worse than spending a bundle on favors that are left on your tables, but these sweet suckers are sure to be a hit. And if there happens to be a few left on the tables, who cares? http://www.brownbowgifts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=lollipops

My fiance and I have been living alone for several years. Needless to say, we have more than we need. We are having a destination wedding which will be costly for most guests to attend. People are always saying "guests want to give gifts" So I wanted to put it in our website that "Their presence at our wedding is a Present in itself" and then jokingly say "If you insist, to make up for Alex's lack of taste in home decor, we have added some items that may come in handy" or you can donate to our favorite foundation "The Cookie New Love Shack Fund" (cookie is my fiance's nickname) Is that tacky or inappropriate?
View Post | (1) Comment(s)HI! I will be getting married in April. The ceremony and the reception are in the same church. I am looking for a way to get a map to put in the invites to show where the church is. What does everyone else do? Do you have a map, or just written directions. Or do you assume that everyone has a GPS and can find their way with just an address? HELP!
View Post | (4) Comment(s)Come next October I will have been in 8 weddings and all the brides have had creative little ways to ask me, so for me it's all been done. I have some time still before I need to ask my girls but I need something new... something different! any ideas?
